TreeHouse To Directly Supply Non-Dairy Creamer

Published:21-January-2010

TreeHouse Foods has reported that its ED Smith subsidiary has signed an agreement to directly supply the Canadian retail private label non-dairy creamer business rather than sell through Sandra, a supplier of coffee and tea products in Canada.

Sandra has been a supplier of private label non-dairy creamer in Canada for around 30 years. ED Smith is a wholly owned Canadian subsidiary of Bay Valley Foods and has been a supplier of non-dairy creamer to Sandra over this period.

TreeHouse Foods, through its Bay Valley Foods and ED Smith subsidiaries, supplies private label retail non-dairy creamer in North America.  Bay Valley Foods is also a supplier of bulk non-dairy creamer to numerous food companies as an ingredient for a range of products and for use in the food service market.

Harry Walsh, president of Bay Valley Foods, said: "The addition of the retail private label non-dairy creamer business will allow ED Smith to continue building its growing presence in the Canadian market and expanding its relationships with Canada's leading retailers.”

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but are not expected to have a material effect on TreeHouse.
