YoCream Reports Increase In Q4 Sales

YoCream has reported net sales of $13.51m for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009, an increase of 1.3% compared to $13.34m for the same quarter previous year. Sales at the company's core frozen yogurt products were up over 59% in the fourth quarter.


Net income for the quarter was $1.1m or $0.44 per diluted share compared to $1.4m or $0.65 per diluted share for the previous year quarter.

For the fiscal 2009 sales increased 18% to $50.8m, an increase of 52.4% compared to $43m for the previous year. Net income for the period was $5.7 or $2.24 per diluted share compared to $4.3m or $1.59 per diluted share for the prior year.

Frozen dessert sales for the fiscal year increased to $41.9m compared to $32.1m for the last year. The 30.3% increase primarily resulted from growth in the company's core frozen yogurt products.

The company said that the renewed demand for frozen yogurt has emerged from California and is emerging in the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest, and Midwest and in international markets. Many of the smaller regional chains have and are expanding to other areas of the country. Frozen yogurt shops, self serve, are becoming destination points for consumers of all demographics.

Around 70 YoCream soft serve products allow operators to present an array of flavors that appeal to consumers of all ages and genders in every region of the country.
